I’ve talked before about how affirmations can help change your inner dialogue. I’ve talked about affirmations for self confidence and to use during pregnancy. They really do make a difference because it helps to change the narrative. Sometimes, when I’ve been practising saying affirmations I start to see things a little differently. It’s as if my eyes have been opened and I’ve started to truly see that all the negative inner dialogue slowly starts to fade away.
So when I started reading more body positive books and learning about improving my self confidence I started to see all of the different body types and shapes. I started to see that not everyone is a size 8, thin and has no lumps and bumps. I thought it before. I constantly thought about how much smaller than me everyone else was. However, that is simply not true.
I went to Aqua Zumba with a friend and noticed all the different body types and shapes and I thought how great it was that we could all come and do this together. Have fun, move and enjoy ourselves no matter what we look like or how we feel about our bodies. In fact I would say that because I went out and did something I enjoy that I knew would make me feel better, I respected my body, my shape, my size, my fat, even more. I was giving it a way of moving that I love doing, that makes me feel good.
So I’ve put together some Body Confident Affirmations for you to have a look at. Feel free to copy them and put them somewhere you can see them or just start saying them to yourself daily. It’s even better if you can do it looking at your body, first thing in the morning, out loud and proud.
